I’ll need to start making these things less elaborate. Anyways, for day 7, I chose Trish Stratus. The WWE women’s division was already on the rise, but she really put it on the map. She was a great champion, she had a really interesting heel turn, and was and still is beloved by a ton of the people who were around. That “divas” era is definitely a stand out. She had some great competitors to help give her some pretty great matches. She was sexy, yet still had the athletic ability to actually look like a top competitor.</span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #444444; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">I missed an entire week of Inktober, but I'm still in it. For my 5th entry, I decided to do the Rhodes family. It was originally supposed to be a tribute to the terrific match they had at Battleground last week, but I was too busy. I've always loved Cody Rhodes. He pulls the heel angle very well, and he could also do great baby face. His in-ring skills are so cool to watch. Dusty is still one of the best wrestlers with a mic in his hand. He's amazing at winning you to his side. Goldust was such a bizarre, but awesome guy to watch back in the Attitude era. His whole persona was so off-putting, but then he gets in that ring and just turns it up. Go Rhodes Dynasty.</span></div>

I think the Heroescon debut of 'Makin' Baby' was a success! The word is out and I got really positive feedback. I'll be setting up a system to take online orders soon so that all of you can get a copy. Thanks for all of the encouraging words throughout this process. It made the work much more fulfilling.Mike Sudduthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815480945589888130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271026038342400740.post-56839901852452487802013-06-06T09:20:00.000-04:002013-06-06T09:20:07.191-04:00Heroescon Commissions<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Alright Guys. Heroescon starts tomorrow, and I've got some spots open for commissions left. I'll be doing things a little differently this year. I will do black & white head/bust shots for $20. These are fully inked with a little bit of toning on 9x12 bristol. I may even throw in a spot color if it works for the piece. Here are a few examples of my head/bust sketches done at FCBD</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I will also have 3 spots available for large commission pieces at the show. These start at $100 and are fully inked and toned on 14x17 bristol. They can have full figures, multiple figures, and some light backgrounds. Again, these spots are very limited, so you'll need to let me know earlyYou can find me on the con floor at tables AA-46-47 to request a sketch, or you can email me at sudduthm2@gmail.com to get a solid spot in the line. Can't wait for the show!</div>

Oh Man! This was really interesting to try and color. I've never tried to color on a piece that I ink washed. I like it, but man did it get away from me for a bit. Still think I could simplify the color style down, but I'm happy with this result.</div>

Well, not really 4. I've been pretty bad about actually putting up all of the installments, so this comes waaaay out of order. Many events led up to this, but this one was too important to put off in favor of continuity. Finding out that I was having a daughter was terrifying at first. The thought of having to deal with a girl 15 years down the line that's as beautiful as her mother made me want to head for the hills and be the only man she'd ever have in her life. I can honestly say now that I'm filled with a joy, pride, and hope that I've never had before, and she's not even here yet. Still....hopefully I can provide that Y chromosome the 2nd time around...Mike Sudduthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815480945589888130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271026038342400740.post-91329049674131592502012-08-30T11:01:00.002-04:002012-08-30T11:01:52.968-04:00Princess Calabretta Kickstarter<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And here's another Making Baby! This one comes way too long after the actual event, but this was the most surreal moment of my entire life. Even more so than Whitney telling me we were expecting. Seeing that little amorphous blob in her stomach was the first time that this felt real to me. Hey everybody. I waited much too long to post up this new strip based on my wife's pregnancy. I've decided (with her permission of course), to document this entire process using comics as the medium. I think it would be really fun, and it'll be nice to give my future child a complex when they see what they did to us for 9 months. I'll hopefully be posting these things on a somewhat regular basis. If anything funny, or just real happens, I'll draw it. They won't all be laugh riots, but It'll be nice to put them out there. Hope that you enjoy!Mike Sudduthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815480945589888130noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271026038342400740.post-25087331744736215472012-06-20T15:56:00.000-04:002012-06-20T15:56:17.313-04:00Here it Comes...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This was a freelance gig that went on and off for about 2 years. The client wanted me to take an old character they had and update him so he looked more modern and appealed to kids more. This character would then be used in an ad campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle in children. While the Doctor went through MANY different changes and iterations, here are some of the main ones .Mike Sudduthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815480945589888130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271026038342400740.post-23079440378422041512012-01-10T13:08:00.000-05:002012-01-10T13:08:52.149-05:00Till Death<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'm trying to keep the blog format, but make it more aesthetically pleasing as well as a more functional portfolio site. It's going slow because I'm having to find and reformat older work, but hopefully soon it will be a much better presentation of my work.Mike Sudduthhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01815480945589888130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271026038342400740.post-82761718545166134622011-08-11T23:40:00.000-04:002012-01-11T10:41:38.093-05:00A Tale of 2 Captains<br />

<span style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">Hello people. Here is the finished version of the sketch I posted last week. I'll try and put up the inked version tomorrow. This is the illustration I did as part of a few limited edition posters for Cola Con. I don't get to design the entire poster. It's a different coloring style for me, but I kinda dig it. ISAIAH BRADLEY FOR THE WIN!!!</span>

It's only a one day event, but there's going to be a great culture smash of hip-hop and comics. We'll even have Tailib Kweli performing! It's going to be rad. Anyways, I'm doing one of a set of poster illustrations done by by several artists, including Sanford Greene and Jim friggin Mahfood! We're all doing Captain America drawings. While I'm sure mine wont' be nearly as good as the other guys throwing in, here's a work in progress of my contribution.<br />
